My Drugstore Secrets Revealed
Tips & Tricks By Christine Cherbonnier
Hi! My name is Christine Cherbonnier
Today I'm going to show you how I created this beautiful makeup using only products from the drugstore.
There are so many amazing products just down the street at your local pharmacy!
I use many of these products in my makeup kit. They are accessible, affordable, and perform just as well as most luxury brands; and now days there are many more natural product options.
In this tutorial, I will share some of my favorite products with you. So, let's start!
Cleanse
First, I'm going to cleanse my skin with the Bioderma, his takes off all of your makeup, including your more waterproof eye makeup. Next, I'm going to moisturize.
Skin Moisturizing and Hydration
This is an ELF product -The Happy Hydration Cream by ELF.
I love this moisturizer!
It is free of everything, super hydrating, feels so good on my skin, and smells really great.
Next, I massage my skin using a facial roller. I use the Plum Beauty Contouring Facial Roller. This one is under 20 dollars, and It's an amazing find.
First, I do my cheekbones, you can get underneath the eye area really well. Just kind of push all of that puffiness out towards the outer part of your face, and then I go down onto my jawline.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. It feels so good!
After I do my facial roller, I use the number seven radiance under-eye patches. I love this one because not only do they feel really good, but they are very beautiful to wear; They have a beautiful radiance to them, and it feels like a luxury under-eye product.
While I let my eye patches cook, I always add lip balm before doing my makeup. I love the organic all-purpose balm as it just melts into the lip, it has an oil like feel. I remove my under-eye patches, and a beautiful skincare glow remains on my skin.
Sunscreen and Foundation
I use sunscreen before I do my foundation on a daily basis.
I love this Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen spy 30. I apply this first useing a foundation brush, this one is a Buffing Brush by Elf.
Next I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. I use this all over my entire face as my foundation, I take the same brush I use for my SPF, and I just buff it in a circular motion all over my entire face.
Next I use my Face Halo pad I used to cleanse my skin, I rub it all over lips to remove any foundation and exfoliate my lips.
I'm hydrate my lips with Burtâs Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia. I love this one because it gives me a little bit of color and hydrates my lips before I put on my lipstick.
I take my Infallible Foundation by L'oreal - this is the lightest one - I apply a little bit of the powder under my eyes and through my t-zone to matte the shine and at the same time create a little highlight.
Brows
I like to use The Micro Brow Pencil by NYX. You can pack it on and kind of go for it and not have to worry about your brows getting really dark, you can make a bigger shape by using the lighter Taupe shade that works great for most brow colors, I just sort of build as you go.
Eyes
Alright, next I'm going to do my eyes.
Iâm using the NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette. This is one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes at the drugstore. I use my Sonia Kashuk Blending Brush.
I go right on top of my lid and do the same thing on the other side. I take the same brown and a stiffer eyeshadow brushes to place the color under my eye.
Next I take the lighter color of the palette with my finger and just apply a little bit to my inner corner to brighten my inner eye.
EYELINER
Alright. Now that I have my brows and my eyeshadow on, I'm going to do my eyeliner.
I use the ELF Pro Proof Eyeliner Pen. I love to use an eyeliner pen. I think this one of the best ones for the price.
I'm going to start from the outside in, and then scoot the pin along my lash line. Then I take a pointed Nail Tâs cotton bud and clean up the liner while also pulling it out to perfect the line (You can find these pointed cotton buds in the nail section of the CVS)
Mascara
My go-to is the L'oreal Voluminous Mascara.
Highlighter
This is the Wet n Wild illuminator - Mega Glo Highlight Stick by Wet n Wild. First, I go up on my cheekbone. The particles are not very big, so it's not going to look shimmery. It's just going to give you a beautiful soft glow to the skin.
I also like to take it and put it up on my brow bone just sort of press it under the brows.
LIPS
So now let's do a lip. I have two lip liners that I love from the drugstore:
The first one is THE NUDE BEIGE by NYX. This is such a perfect nude beige, it looks like this on the back of my hand it's a cool tone nude
The next one is a Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner Number 104 by Maybelline; this is also a Taupe beige. it's a little bit more purple
I use the SUPER STAY INK CRAYON LIPSTICK - On The Grind by Maybelline.
I like to finish my lips with the TINTED LIP BALM by Burt's Bee. It adds a really pretty sheer, sort of natural red lip tone. With all of these sorts of paler nudes, I sometimes feel like I need a little bit more color.
I like to use the Maybelline Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush Number 35.
You can take some of this really sheer gorgeous color and play with it. This one is a cool-toned shade called Berry Flame Number 35.
These cheek heats are super fun to play with, you will notice that they're almost like a liquid, they're kind of cooling to the skin, they feel really good.
So these are my Secret Drugstore Products.
